Malda, 13th January, 2023 : To remember the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, a great philosopher and spiritual leader, like every year this year also ABC High School celebrated Swami Vivekananda’s birthday as ‘Yuva Divas’ ‘National Youth Day-12th January’ in a very befitting manner. On this occasion a cultural function was organised in the school premises. The dias was richly decorated with the pictures and valuable speeches of the great leader. The headmaster of the institution took the chair. The honourable president was the chief guest of the event. Some notable guests were also present on the dias. A large number of students, teachers, ex-students including guardians attended the function. The function was started at about 10 A.M. with a patriotic song sung by some students in chorus. The notable guests present on the dias delivered their valuable speeches on the significance of the day. It was followed by a well-organised cultural programme which included essay competition, exhibition, seminars, recitation, songs, dances, drama, debate, quiz contest, sit and draw competition and instrumental music in which the students took part. The audience broke into claps repeatedly. By reciting a poem Atanu Bose, a student of class-X enthralled the audience. Lastly, a one-act play on the life of Vivekananda was staged by the students of class-IX. It captured the hearts all the present in the function. The president in his brief but valuable speech stressed that we should follow the ideals and teachings of Vivekananda in our life. He also advised the students to become like Swami Vivekananda following teachings and ideals. Finally the headmaster declared the function end with a vote of thanks to the attendants.
