FIRE IN A LUXURY BUS : INJURED 30

Kolkata, 11th November, 2023 : At least 30 people were injured when a luxury bus was suddenly caught fire yesterday at about 10 P.M. near Madhabpur area in Paschim Medinipur district, West Bengal. According to a police officer, the accident took place when the luxury bus bound for Odisha’s Paradip departed Babughat in Kolkata around 5 P.M. and reached Madhabpur area around 10 P.M. moving slowly. At that time the bus was suddenly caught fire. At least 30 people travelling in the bus tried to rush out of the vehicle by smashing the side-windows. Some of them, while jumping, fell into a roadside ditch. Many of the injured people were admitted to nearby hospitals. The driver and the helper also jumped out of the vehicle after stopping it, he said. Immediately fire tenders were informed and they rushed to the spot to douse the flames, the official said, adding the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
